Smorgasbord Productions is a Hollywood animation studio with clients ranging from Coca Cola to Comedy Central. The studio’s artists (also know as Smorgies) bring a diverse array of talents to the company from graphic design, animation and film production to screen writing and web design, allowing the company to take on a wide range of projects. But the studio’s primary focus is on the development and production of original animated television properties and has created over twenty new shows. “Teapot” an original short co-created by Smorgasbord's creative director Dahveed will air June 2008, on Nickelodeon and will go into series development in September along with series “Mad Beanz!” and “Aunt Minnie Spy Mama.”
As a smaller animation studio, an internship at Smorgasbord Productions is extremely hands on. Interns are immediately given opportunities to demonstrate their skills in all areas of production from animation, to design, to management. Generally internships last for a minimum of 80 hours and by the end of that period the following objectives are reached: the intern has advanced his/her skills in animation production, the intern has a greater understanding of the business side of animation and studio workflow, and the intern has produced at least one profession piece of work suitable for his/her portfolio. In the past work from our interns has even appeared on networks such as G4, Nickelodeon and Sci-Fi Channel. In addition, several of our past interns have been hired immediately after their internships.

The qualifications are enthusiasm, a positive attitude and a good foundation of animation skills and software. Basic drawing skills are also important. Our primarily focus is on Flash animation, so Flash, Photoshop and After Effects skills are very useful. 3D applications such as 3D Studio Max and Maya are appreciated but not necessary.
Our specific style of animating is something interns are taught on the job.
